Examination and Promotion
Examination and Promotion Policies at Our CBSE School
Examination System:
At SVPS, we adhere to the examination and promotion policies set forth by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment of our students’ academic progress. Our examination system is designed to evaluate students’ knowledge, understanding, and application of concepts across various subjects.
Continuous Assessment:
We believe in a holistic approach to assessment, which includes both formative and summative evaluations. Throughout the academic year, students undergo continuous assessment through class tests, quizzes, projects, assignments, and periodic examinations. This continuous evaluation helps teachers gauge students’ learning progress and provides valuable feedback for improvement.
Term-end Examinations:
At the end of each term, students sit for comprehensive term-end examinations conducted by SVPS. These examinations cover the entire syllabus taught during the term and assess students’ understanding of the subjects. Term-end examinations play a crucial role in evaluating students’ academic performance and identifying areas for further development.
CBSE Promotion Policies:
As per the promotion policies outlined by CBSE, students must meet certain criteria to be promoted to the next grade. The promotion policies ensure that students attain the necessary skills and knowledge to progress academically. Key aspects of CBSE promotion policies include:
1. Minimum Attendance Requirement: Students must maintain a minimum attendance percentage as specified by CBSE to be eligible for promotion to the next grade. Regular attendance is essential for effective learning and academic success.
2. Passing Marks in Each Subject: Students must obtain passing marks in each subject to be promoted to the next grade. The minimum passing marks vary according to the subject and are set by CBSE.
3. Overall Performance: In addition to subject-wise performance, CBSE considers students’ overall academic performance, including their performance in co-curricular activities and behavioral conduct, for promotion to the next grade.
4. Exemption from Examinations: CBSE allows certain exemptions from examinations for students with disabilities or those participating in sports at the national or international level. Such students are evaluated based on alternative assessment methods.
Support and Guidance:
At SVPS, we are committed to providing necessary support and guidance to students to help them meet the promotion criteria set by CBSE. Our dedicated faculty members work closely with students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and provide personalized assistance to enhance their academic performance.
Conclusion:
Our examination and promotion policies are designed to foster a conducive learning environment where students can thrive academically and holistically. By adhering to CBSE guidelines and providing comprehensive support, we ensure that every student receives a quality education and is well-prepared for future academic pursuits.
